Xchanging’s Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training provides an overall insight to the techniques of Six Sigma, its metrics, and basic improvement methodologies. A Yellow Belt typically has a good, basic knowledge of Six Sigma. At the operational level, they participate as core team members or subject matter experts (SME) on a project or projects. At management level, they are project champions and key stakeholders – process owners that engage Green and Black Belts in improvement projects within their area.

Program Curriculum and Outcomes

Yellow Belt

This two day course is based on Xchanging’s world class process improvement training and philosophy. It offers a practical approach and thorough exposure to the tools, mindset and applicability of Lean Six Sigma in day to day work.

On completion of the course, participants will have developed a strong understanding of the benefits of using Lean Six Sigma, identify their customers and their needs, implement value add and waste control, and learn how to create sustainable solutions.

The Yellow Belt curriculum includes a broad range of Six Sigma tools and techniques:

  • Learn how the DMAIC Six Sigma strategy works.
  • A fundamental understanding of basic statistics including process capability.
  • The difference between variable and attribute data. 
  • Basic concepts of process control.
  • How to identify dominant variation sources.
  • Learn about process control systems.
