Black Belt & Green Belt Training

Improve customer satisfaction; significantly gain quality levels; discover breakthrough bottom-line profitability, decreased cycle times and increased sigma shifts. Learn how to achieve these results as a Black Belt or Green Belt through Xchanging’s Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt Training Program

Bottom Line Results through Business Improvement

Lean Six Sigma emphasises quality improvement, but it is more than statistics and tools. Our proven Lean Six Sigma methodology is a systematic application that is focused on achieving significant financial results. When properly deployed on carefully selected business projects, this methodology can lead to a significant reduction – and in many cases, elimination – of defects and out-of-control processes. Saving these valuable corporate resources translates into immediate – and dramatic – financial profitability.

Xchanging’s internally trained Black Belts and Green Belts have saved more than $100 million over the last 10 years. The results have been independently validated by our financial controllers. And, because a typical Black Belt can direct four to six projects per year, annualised cost reductions for each Black Belt can be significant for any organisation!

Xchanging’s Lean Six Sigma brings results that go right to the bottom line – regardless of type or size of a business (manufacturing, operational, service or health care).

Program Curriculum and Outcomes

Black Belt

Black Belt training is conducted in a series of sessions – three weeks of rigorous and applied training over a three-month period – 15 total days of coursework. Presented in a just-in-time fashion, the course is scheduled to allow participants to learn the improvement tools within the project stages in which they require them. During training, Black Belt students focus on an actual, fully supported working project – approved by their management and accepted by Xchanging’s master trainer prior to the start of the first session. Regular tollgate reviews, additional capability development and performance coaching accompany the activities. These projects centre on delivering bottom-line financial results while increasing customer satisfaction. Students can expect to spend at least 60% of their time at work on their projects.

Green Belt

Green Belt training is conducted in three one-week sessions, a concentrated and focussed coursework alongside the Black Belt training course. This training only differs from the Black Belt training in that there is no requirement to run and complete a successful project to certify – the training is classroom-only.

The Black Belt and Green Belt curriculum includes a broad range of Six Sigma tools and techniques:

  • Learn how to manage the DMAIC Six Sigma strategy.
  • Compute and apply basic statistics.
  • Establish and benchmark process capability.
  • Apply key statistical tools for hypothesis testing.
  • Learn how to construct and use variable and attribute data.
  • Acquire basic concepts of process control.
  • Identify dominant variation sources.
  • Establish realistic performance tolerances.
  • Understand the principles and construction of experiments.
  • Design/execute multivariable experiments.
  • Learn how to plan and implement process control systems.
